Welcome to the KingdomXCom Experience!

Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiasts! We're super excited to announce that the eclectic city's web-series debut, KingdomXCom, is finally here! After much anticipation, we're diving back into the thrilling narrative we started at the close of this summer. For those who may not be familiar with XCom's unique gameplay, I've got your back. I'm here to provide commentary and insights throughout this interactive journey.

What to Expect from the Prologue

If you haven't already caught the trailer video, it's a perfect teaser that lays the groundwork for our story. The essence of KingdomXCom lies within its stunning visuals and engaging plot. The first three videos will serve as a prologue to what promises to be an epic adventure, offering a chance to meet some incredible characters and unveil parts of our immersive storyline.

Dive into the Adventure!

As we embark on this fabulous journey together, mark your calendars for the video releases! Each episode is meticulously crafted to pull you into the world of KingdomXCom, where decision-making plays a pivotal role. The blend of strategy, storytelling, and nostalgia will keep you glued to the screen.

In our story, we’re fighting aliens that have invaded and infiltrated every institution of society. It has been twenty years since the invasion began, and the aliens have co-opted every government on Earth into an imperial governance state called “Advent”. Advent has silenced all decenters except for small military outcrops of resistance who go by the codename XCOM. The gameplay happened from the perspective of “The Commander”, the former leader of XCOM who observes the battles from either the command or mission airships. The first episodes are the journey of the Commander’s escape and rejoining XCOM. Followed by episodes where you’ll be introduced to the crew and facilities. This prologue overview should prepare you for all the episodes to come in the series.

Each “Turn” consists of a Commander round and an alien round of play. Each side of the battle sees their player control two actions for the characters in their squad. These can include running, shooting, throwing, hacking/scanning, and more. These actions all play out to great dramatic effect due to the RNG engine that randomizes the outcome for every action based on probability. In this next turn on screen, you will see an example of BAD RNG as my soldiers miss an easy shot, while another gets hit.

Each encounter with the enemy allows you to visualize the game as an interactive narrative. Again, fans will be able to purchase perks that affect the outcome of the following episodes. For example, Patrons could have the option to have their custom character modded into the soldier roster or pay for a medkit for their favorite character to heal faster. There are even battlefield upgrades and weapon modifications that allow more engagement, as we can post polls for fans to determine choices throughout the series. The aliens have perks and buffs that you’ll see here in future episodes, such as “Hollow Targeting”, which gives all enemies an aim boost when targeting a “marked” player. Every mission has up to three objectives. After we return to base, we’ll visit our infirmary for injuries and award our soldiers with promotions.

Another aspect of the gameplay is the soundtrack. You may have noticed that I’ve also customized the in-game music, and before you even ask, “YES”, I will be playing other Eclectic City artist tracks on here occasionally.

As the mission wraps, we will be met with our wrap-up poster creator. This cool addition allows us to pose the mission survivors in a graphic memorial poster. The poster will be not only stored at the in-game memorial but also can be shared at the memorial in the Eclectic City. Visitors will be able to share posters on social media, and Patreon members will even receive physical prints of these. This poster creation process won’t show up during every episode videos, but it will be part of most video thumbnail thumbnails.

There is so much to dive into with this game but you’ll see as the series develops. If every episode is one hour, this will still likely be 60+ episodes when played to completion. At the end of every mission, there is a debriefing on the flight back where we learn more stats about the battle. Of course, we will be recording these stats to keep a running leaderboard in the community.

As you settle in for the prologues, take a moment to reflect on the rich lore we’ve built. Expect plenty of twists and turns—it's going to get intense! Make sure to engage with the content and share your thoughts; your opinions are invaluable as we navigate through this epic saga. Can't wait to hear what you think about the journey we're about to take!
