KingdomXCom: A New Dawn After a Year-Long Hiatus

It brings us great pleasure to announce the return of KingdomXCom this fall after a year-long hiatus. This break has not only allowed us to reassess our creative direction but has also emerged as a catalyst for a more profound narrative. The unprecedented events of the past year transformed our original script from being a captivating account resembling our reality to something that felt obsolete. Who could have predicted that actual aliens would be spotted in New Jersey, after all? It seems that our story beat had an ironic twist, coinciding with a different president's election, which opened the floodgates for a plethora of new storytelling possibilities.

Reflection on the Hiatus

During our time away from KingdomXCom, we watched global events unfold at a rapid pace. Captivated by the real-world drama, we recognized that our initial narrative—centered on political intrigue and extraterrestrial interactions—needed to evolve. Our story featured a president who would betray his own species in exchange for promises of infinite health and longevity. In light of actual circumstances, this premise became increasingly absurd, highlighting the fine line between fiction and reality.

A New Direction and Inspiration

Despite the setbacks, creativity has a unique ability to rebound. While I had initially planned a different series to fill the gap left by KingdomXCom, a serendipitous encounter with meeting the real-world inspiration of the KXC character "The Hatter". My friend Mark and I had created this character from his descriptions of Dan over a year ago - so when I happened to meet him during a video call I was floored at how he mirrored his character. This actually reignited my passion for the project. This new narrative direction not only embraces the essence of our previous work but also expands the universe we have created. We realized that the themes we explore in KingdomXCom—government betrayal, the pursuit of power, and the implications of technology—resonate more than ever in today's world.

As we delve back into our work, we are excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The upcoming season promises to weave together the elements of satire, science fiction, and relevant commentary, reflective of the times we live in.
